So, the other morning on one of the morning talk shows there was some woman going on and on about how being a SAHM was not a job. Well, I got some news for you lady. Here are 14 reasons why it is!
1. It’s work!
Granted it’s not your cushy 40 hour a work week job. Nope, ours is the 24/7/365 kind.
2. Did I mention it’s hard?
Here are just a few of our job titles: Facilities manager, laundry operator, housekeeper, cook, day care attendant, teacher, chauffeur, janitor, psychologist and CEO. Not to mention you can’t ever call in sick!
3. We’re always looking for a promotion we will never get
Let’s face it, we already do everything. A promotion for us is when the kids go to school full time!
4. We always have someone who needs something from us
They are everywhere, asking and needing everything at all times. Imagine if your coworkers came to the bathroom stall to ask for your help. Awkward!
5. We get paid
Sure it’s not a monetary salary, but there is something to be said for slobbery kisses and scribbled pictures.
6. The outcome isn’t always what we hoped
Despite our best efforts, things don’t always go as planned. What do you mean my child crapped in the corner?
7. We have to be prepared for anything, and yes, I do mean anything!
Like smothered diaper messes during nap time, fit throwing toddlers in the middle of the check out line, Sharpie artwork all over your brand new couches or a baby powder party in your bathroom!
