Every day we hear stories of the incredible feats that moms (and dads) have to overcome in order to provide for their children. This story is one that will truly break your heart from start to finish. Even more, it will make you believe in the healing power of love.
A young mother found out she had Stage 3 breast cancer while she was pregnant. She had one breast removed before giving birth four weeks early so she could seek treatment. When she brought her newborn baby to her remaining breast for the first time, the photographer was on hand to document this breathtaking moment.

Can you imagine the range of emotions this mother went through. From becoming pregnant to be diagnosed with cancer. And then having chemotherapy and one breast removed during her pregnancy, but still keeping a breast and being able to breast feed her child.
I can’t even imagine!
Emotions are always strong the first time you breastfeed, and this photo captures the happiness and sadness, strength and sorrow that the mother must have felt in that moment. It is truly an honor to be invited into this precious, precious moment.
